Teletext Network Controller - Automation

FAB Teletext Network Controller allows automating many functions.

Following automation facilities are available in FAB Teletext Network Controller

Event based functions

Scheduled functions

TV-Guide generation

Event Based Functions

Events are executed whenever a file in the database is changed.

All files containing teletext pages that are on air are automatically monitored. Whenever a file change occurs the teletext page is transferred to the Teletext Data Generator and also exported in HTML/WML format. If the file is deleted in the database then it is also deleted on the Teletext Data Generator and on the Webserver.

Any other file in the database can also be monitored. Whenever a file change occurs one of the following actions can be executed

Import the file into a teletext page
This is generally used when monitoring text files that are automatically received by FTP or E-mail

Execute teletext commands
This can be used to copy a part of the page that has been changed onto another page

Batch and .EXE files can be executed this way

Execute EDL program
Programs designed with EDL Interpreter can be executed this way. EDL Interpreter is a separate product.

Scheduled Functions

The Scheduler that is integrated in FAB Teletext Network Controller allows executing certain actions at certain times and days.

The following actions can be executed by the scheduler

Download e-mail with POP3 protocol
E-mails can be download from mail servers and attached files will be extracted

Download files with FTP protocol
Files and directories can be downloaded from FTP servers

Upload files with FTP protocol
Files and directories can be uploaded to FTP servers

Copy files over the file system
Files and directories can be copied to another computer using network drive mapping

Execute external program
Batch and .EXE files can be executed this way

Files can be downloaded from Webservers and HTML files can be converted to text files

Execute EDL program
Programs designed with EDL Interpreter can be executed this way. EDL Interpreter is a separate product.

TV-Guide Generation

FAB Teletext Network Controller can generate TV listing pages from the TV listing database of FAB TV-Guide Editor.
