FAB Subtitler can use the following hardware to insert open subtitles into SDI video:

PC with Decklink HD Extreme card
This is a very cost effective solution which does not have a bypass on failure. The card allows inserting open subtitles directly into HD-SDI and it can also provide Fill&Key output for an external downstream keyer.

PC with FAB Open Subtitle Keyer Card
This is a professional broadcast solution based on FAB's PCI-Express SD/HD-SDI video inserter card which has a hardware bypass in case of failure.

PC with Decklink HD Extreme card

FAB Subtitler can be installed on a PC with the following hardware:

Decklink HD Extreme PCI-Express card
This card can insert open subtitles into HD-SDI signal. The card can also provide Fill&Key output to control an external downstream keyer.

Timecode Reader PCI-Express card
This card is used to read VITC timecode from HD-SDI signal. Some automation systems provide timecode over a special serial or network protocol so that the timecode card may not be required.

PC compatible with Decklink and Timecode Reader card
HP Z400 and HP Z800 Workstations are recommended.

PC with FAB Open Subtitle Keyer Card

The FAB Open Subtitle Keyer Card is used for insertion of open subtitles into SD/HD-SDI video. The card has a bypass relay which switches to bypass in case of software or power failure. At the same time VITC timecode is read from the SD/HD-SDI input. Any standard PC with PCI-Express x1 slot with Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 can be used, like HP Elite 8200, HP Z400, HP ProLiant DL360/DL380. FAB Subtitler PRO, MPEG, LIVE, BCAST, XCD can be used.

FAB Digital Broadcast Keyer Card can be delivered with 19” 1U HP ProLiant DL360 Server with RAID-1 mirrored hard disk

Broadcast quality inserter for SD/HD-SDI video, BNC in/out with bypass relay in case of power, hardware or software failure

Can be delivered with 19” 1U HP ProLiant DL360/DL380 Server with 2 hard disks as RAID-1, Windows 2008 Server

Compatible with FAB Subtitler PRO, MPEG, LIVE, BCAST which must be installed on the same PC

The card is available as a reader card only without open subtitle keyer functionality. The model FT-HT 11 DCD includes only timecode and teletext reader from Main and Aux input.
