FAB Subtitler Broadcast Edition

Automatic transmission of subtitles is used to transmit subtitles together with the program without the need to record the subtitles to tape in advance.

FAB Subtitler Broadcast Edition is a special version of the subtitling software that allows automatic transmission of subtitles synchronized with timecode and controlled by VPS/PDC signal or automation system.

The software supports following special functions

- Playlist for subtitle file transmission
- Interface to automation systems (Harris, SGT, Aveco, IBIS, Encoda, …)
- Support for VPS/PDC decoder
- Interface to FAB Subtitle Database for automatic download of required subtitle files
- In addition to the subtitles a station logo can be added to the picture for branding purposes.

The following process is used for automatic subtitle transmission

- When FAB Subtitle Database is used the subtitle files that will be transmitted are entered into the playlist of the Subtitle Database and the subtitling system automatically downloads all required subtitle files from the Database for the next 24 hours.

- When FAB Subtitle Database is not used the subtitle files have to be copied to the hard disk of the computer for subtitle transmission manually.

- The ID of the currently transmitted program is received from the automation system or the VPS/PDC code is used.

- Each ID is compared with the items in the playlist and when a playlist item corresponds to the ID the subtitle file from the playlist is automatically loaded and the transmission is started.
