FAB Subtitler Broadcast Edition

FAB Subtitler Broadcast Edition is a software package for PC that can be used for automatic transmission of subtitles controlled by automation system or by VPS/PDC. This way subtitles are transmitted together with the program without the need to record the subtitles to tape or disk in advance.

All languages supported by Windows are supported by FAB Subtitler incl. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hebrew, Arabic, Cyrillic, Greek and more.

The software works in the following way

- Subtitle files for transmission have to be stored on the local hard disk
- The filename of the subtitle file corresponds to the ID of the playlist item in automation system
- The automation system sends the ID when it starts transmitting a new playlist item
- FAB Subtitler BCAST will search for the subtitle filename ID.stl
- If the subtitle file is found FAB Subtitler BCAST will open it and start transmitting it
- Subtitles are synchronized to timecode which is received from automation system

The software supports following types of subtitles

- DVB subtitles with unlimited number of PIDs per channel/language on ASI or IP output .
The product FT-DVB FAB DVB Interface is used for transmission of ASI or IP DVB data

- Teletext subtitles with up 16 teletext pages per channel/language and insertion into SD-SDI.
The product FT-DBR 4 FAB Teletext Data Bridge is used for insertion of teletext subtitles

- Open subtitles and insertion into HD-SDI.
The product FT-DBK 4 or Decklink HD Extreme is used for insertion of open subtitles into SD-SDI

Multi-Channel and Multi-Lingual operation

- Multiple channels and multiple languages can be transmitted from a single PC

Special functionality

- Interface to FAB Subtitle Database can used to download subtitle files that will be transmitted in the next 48 hours
