FAB Subtitle Database

FAB Subtitle Database is an SQL Database for storing of subtitle files and playlists for automatic transmission of subtitles and allows organizing the workflow for preparation of subtitles.

1. Entry of program to be subtitled into the database
2. Selection of date/time of transmission and the person who will subtitle it
3. Alarm if subtitles are not prepared on time
4. Entry of subtitle files into the database when they are ready

The big advantage of using a subtitle database is that subtitle files are stored in an organized way and searching for any subtitle file that already exists is very easy. The fact that also playlists for automatic transmission of subtitles are stored in the subtitle database allows statistic queries to find out how many hours of program were subtitled per month/year.

The number of subtitle files which can be stored in the database is only limited by the hard disk size. Practically this means that millions of subtitle files can be stored in the database when using a 40GB hard disk because subtitle files are compressed before they are stored in the database.

To add/delete subtitle files into the subtitle database a client software is required which can be installed on any Windows PC. The software also allows searching for subtitle files, creation of playlists for automatic transmission of subtitles and more.

The subtitle database is multi-user enabled which means that multiple users can work on the database at the same time from more than one workstation PC.
